Niagara Real Estate Opportunities Wait Around Every Corner

 “Niagara region home sales fell back in September following some better monthly sales figures this summer,” said Deanna Gunter, President of the Niagara Association of Realtors.

However, residential home sales totaled 586 units in September 2019. This was an increase of 0.32% from the previous year.

The overall benchmark price for the Niagara region was $422,900 in September 2019. This was an increase of 8.13% compared to September 2018.

While sales fell back in September (a trend that continues into October), after a robust spring and summer this is typical of this time of year. In fact, I consider this a great time of year for buyers. Quality homes have been on the market for longer than the summer months and buyers can start to see lower prices or reductions in the original price. The term “On Sale”, not just “For Sale” comes to mind.

Realtors listed 1055 residential properties in Niagara last month, an increase of 9.67% compared to September 2018. The average days it took to sell a home in September was 44 days, compared to 42 days in September 2018.
